The production and sale of fuels is a core activity at ExxonMobil. The many types of fuel range from gas, diesel and LPG for cars and domestic fuel oil for heating in houses and buildings to heavy fuel oils for power stations and gas oil for industrial applications.

ExxonMobil has a fine-mesh network of distribution and sales outlets. For loyal customers there is Esso Extras, a unique saving system. For heavy users and owners of car fleets ExxonMobil has developed a multifunctional, practical method of payment: the Esso-Card.
ExxonMobil is a major producer of petrochemical materials. These are produced from petroleum and form the building blocks for the endless range of chemicals we encounter in everyday life, such as packaging material, plastic bottles, synthetic rubber, solvents and other consumer products. We have supplied fuels and lubricants to the aviation industry since the first tentative attempts at getting motorized airplanes airborne. This tradition was continued when the first spacecraft sped through the atmosphere. ExxonMobil Aviation is currently the principal supplier of jet fuel in the world. ExxonMobil Aviation Lubricants supplies custom designed lubricant solutions for the aircraft, from the nose to the tail.
In a special plant in Rotterdam-Botlek, ExxonMobil produces an exceptionally pure form of LPG for use as an aerosol propellant. The special requirement for this type of gas is that it must be completely pure and therefore odor-free. A large amount of propellant is used in the cosmetics industry and therefore mixes with products such as perfume, whose primary selling point is their pleasant smell.
Virtually everything that rolls, revolves or moves needs lubrication. ExxonMobil is the leading producer and marketer of lubricants in the world. A versatile assortment of these products, in a wide range of types and amounts, is sold under the Mobil brand. Certain oils are not used as lubricants, but instead are used as starting materials or process oils. In addition to these special products, the ExxonMobil Antwerp refinery and other refineries also produce bitumen, a binding agent in asphalt.
In over 60 countries, ship owners can obtain superior quality fuel oil, 24-hour service and technical advice from ExxonMobil Marine Fuels. The same holds true for ExxonMobil Marine Lubricants. Specialists are available in 900 international seaports to advise, assist and supply clients with high quality lubricants and associated products.
